This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +5 more states.
• Oversee the code signing process for binaries, packages, and software artifacts across Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms.
• Administer the lifecycle of certificates, encompassing issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
• Design, implement, and sustain frameworks for encryption, certificates, and code signing.
• Develop automation solutions and tools that enhance the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of the build system.
• Recognize opportunities to optimize existing systems.
• Lead projects from stakeholder specifications and initial design through to the delivery of completed internal tools.
• Generate clear, maintainable code with minimal supervision.
• Produce user documentation for tools.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Configure build plans and pipelines, resolve issues, and maintain or restore systems and services during on-call rotations.
• Diagnose and rectify build, packaging, and deployment failures.
• Collaborate with development teams and global cross-functional teams across various time zones.
• Function effectively as a remote employee.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or possess Green Card/permanent resident status.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or DevOps/build engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation purposes.
• In-depth understanding of encryption/PKI concepts, including public/private key pairs, certificate authorities, hashing, and signing algorithms.
• Experience in writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development, including Jenkinsfiles and shared libraries.
• Demonstrated ability to operate, administer, and troubleshoot CI/CD platforms like Jenkins and GitLab.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and/or Salt.
• Background in automating virtualization environments such as VMware.
• Knowledge of public cloud APIs, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Understanding of build/release engineering and software development lifecycles.
• Capability to support and enhance build/release processes in collaboration with development teams.
• Ability to work with teams across multiple time zones.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to make timely decisions.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
