This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Implement cost monitoring and alerting solutions across cloud platforms under senior guidance.
• Develop scripts and automation tools to enhance cost optimization workflows.
• Assist in establishing cost allocation and tagging implementations for precise cost attribution.
• Create and uphold cost optimization dashboards and reporting tools.
• Support integration efforts between cloud billing APIs and internal systems.
• Contribute to the development of tools that facilitate FinOps processes across product and platform groups.
• Aid in the establishment of cost guardrails and automated policies to avert cost overruns.
• Assist in the development of cost data collection and processing pipelines.
• Support the creation of technical documentation for cost-efficient infrastructure patterns.
• Engage in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers to learn FinOps best practices and cost optimization methods.
• Work with product engineering teams to identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Participate in FinOps Working Group meetings to gain a cross-functional perspective.
• Contribute to research on new cost optimization tools and techniques.
• Support technical initiatives within the Infrastructure Foundations Program.
• Monitor and maintain existing cost management tools and systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to costs.
• Help implement and evaluate cost optimization recommendations.
• Support data quality initiatives to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for cost management systems.
• Must be eligible for CJIS clearance (requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 3 years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong programming abilities in Python, Go, or comparable languages.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with monitoring tools and foundational observability concepts.
• Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker).
