This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +27 more states.
β’ Construct and support scalable data models that convert raw data into organized, business-ready datasets.
β’ Ensure data integrity, comprehensive documentation, observability, semantic consistency, and optimal performance.
β’ Create and maintain modular dbt models, semantic layers, and BI views for business analysts and executive stakeholders.
β’ Grasp evolving business trends, business logic, and cross-functional collaborations to incorporate context and governance within the data layer.
β’ Develop, document, and sustain Kimball dimensional models, semantic definitions, warehouse transformation logic, and BI datasets.
β’ Design, create, and uphold version-controlled data models that facilitate self-service analytics and reporting.
β’ Guarantee data quality and pipeline accuracy through automated dbt testing, lineage tracking, performance optimization, and proactive alerts.
β’ Enhance complex business logic and disjointed queries by standardizing analyst requests into documented semantic models.
β’ Integrate data governance, metric standardization, documentation, single source of truth definitions, and secure data access.
β’ Collaborate with data team members and stakeholders; engage in standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
β’ Diagnose data logic issues and modeling errors while participating in analytics support activities.
β’ Identify enhancements to data transformation processes and semantic definitions.
β’ Contribute to the analytics platform, dbt models, semantic layers, and BI reporting frameworks.
β’ Take independent ownership of analytics engineering workstreams and modeling roadmap items.
β’ Cultivate domain expertise in business metrics and data definitions.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
β’ 3-5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data science.
β’ Proven experience in building, testing, and maintaining production-grade data transformation workflows and semantic models.
β’ Familiarity with dimensional data modeling techniques, including Star Schema and Kimball methodology.
β’ Experience utilizing dbt or semantic tools to define, document, and communicate metric logic.
β’ Background in modeling business domain data, product usage metrics, and semi-structured JSON data for BI consumption.
β’ Software engineering mindset applied to data, including Git, automated testing, CI/CD, data modeling, and code documentation.
β’ Expertise in advanced SQL, dbt, Snowflake, Python, Git, and modern BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
β’ Experience with Google Analytics, marketing, advertising, social media platforms, CRM/Salesforce, and BI visualization tools.
β’ Knowledge of the modern data stack, encompassing modeling, semantic layers, testing, documentation, governance, and BI integration.
β’ Understanding of dimensional data modeling techniques, including Kimball methodology, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.
β’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
