This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +2 more countries.
β’ Take ownership of the organization-wide data roadmap and prioritize investments in the platform.
β’ Develop automated monitoring systems for data quality and freshness across source data, pipelines, and reports.
β’ Oversee data lineage and impact analysis from production sources through warehouse models to dashboards.
β’ Manage Lightdash, including workspace structure, permissions, certification, naming conventions, rollout, enablement, query performance, and warehouse costs.
β’ Enhance and regulate the semantic layer, ensuring one official definition for each metric.
β’ Oversee Segment event tracking, which encompasses event standards, ownership, property dictionaries, review lifecycle, and drift detection.
β’ Regulate data access for AI tools and uphold an AI-compatible warehouse.
β’ Manage data security, PII handling, retention protocols, and periodic access reviews in compliance with US state privacy regulations.
β’ Create documentation, ownership models, and review cycles for sustainable governance.
β’ Lead incident resolution and link production change reviews with downstream impact assessments.
β’ Begin as a solo contributor and subsequently recruit and manage a Lead Analytics Engineer.
β’ Expertise in governance-focused data systems.
β’ Daily utilization of AI tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, and ChatGPT for quality assurance, automation, anomaly triage, and documentation.
β’ Proven experience as a hands-on manager responsible for the output, priorities, and time management of others.
β’ Proficiency in writing SQL, debugging Airflow DAGs, and configuring permissions.
β’ Product-oriented ability to convert stakeholder needs into prioritized initiatives.
β’ Automation-first mindset for ongoing quality checks.
β’ Capability to establish and uphold standards across engineers and analysts.
β’ Practical experience in warehouse and pipeline layers.
β’ Credible track record in maintaining a BI tool and managing a tracking plan at a company scale.
β’ Familiarity with tools such as Redshift, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Segment, Lightdash, Tableau, Metabase, or similar technologies.
β’ Experience with data quality monitoring, freshness oversight, lineage management, semantic layer governance, data security and privacy, and AI data readiness.
β’ Base salary: $75kβ$120k/year.
