This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Provide engineering expertise and technical leadership for both overhead and underground electrical distribution system initiatives.
• Implement client standards, industry best practices, and regulatory guidelines during the design and execution of distribution projects.
• Facilitate project execution by managing assignments, tracking performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and nurturing client relationships.
• Develop and supervise engineering design packages utilizing Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and AutoCAD.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering and design outputs.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers by offering technical guidance through training, design evaluations, and knowledge sharing.
• Engage with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective project delivery.
• Recognize and propose enhancements to engineering processes, design standards, team performance, and technical capabilities.
• Maintain productivity and adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 3–5 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering and design.
• Experience in designing and supporting overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Familiarity with utility distribution standards, NESC regulations, and utility construction practices.
• Skilled in utility design and work management software, including Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, WMS, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating engineering design packages and construction work orders.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management abilities.
• Capability to oversee multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Exceptional organizational, document management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proven ability to conduct technical reviews ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables.
