Engagement Lead, Finance and Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to client transformation, controllership, and shared services leadership regarding finance and accounting automation and AI.

• Advocate for the automation and AI agenda during agency and functional meetings.

• Critique process design and suggest standardization, control enhancements, or process retirement prior to automation.

• Cultivate relationships within the agency network and pinpoint finance opportunities.

• Identify, assess, categorize, and prioritize processes across record to report, order to cash, purchase to pay, close and consolidation, intercompany, and management reporting.

• Evaluate current efforts and costs, target states, anticipated benefits, control impacts, and payback for potential processes.

• Maintain a validated backlog that aligns with delivery capacity.

• Collaborate with the client to determine what to automate, standardize, or address with agentic solutions.

• Partner with solution architects and business analysts on automation designs involving UiPath, Microsoft, and ServiceNow.

• Establish finance and audit acceptance criteria that include segregation of duties, evidence retention, auditability, and control impact.

• Lead value readouts with client leadership and connect delivered work to measured financial outcomes.

• Assist with hypercare, knowledge transfer, and project handover.

• Identify and develop adjacent opportunities such as internal audit and controls testing, HR operations, and managed services.

• Contribute reusable finance patterns, benchmarks, and accelerators to TQA’s industry solutions library.

• Mentor TQA and client colleagues regarding finance domain context.

• Create a finance and accounting process landscape and automation pipeline.

• Maintain a value ledger linking delivered automation and agents to quantified financial benefits.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of twelve years of experience in finance and accounting, with substantial time spent in controllership, financial operations, shared services, or finance transformation leadership.

• A qualified accountant background is strongly preferred, such as CPA, CMA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.

• In-depth, hands-on process knowledge across month-end close and consolidation, intercompany transactions, order to cash and collections, purchase to pay, expense and vendor management, and management reporting.

• Proven track record of delivering finance transformation through automation, AI, or agentic solutions, with quantifiable and defensible benefits.

• Experience in client-facing or business partnering roles at the CFO, controller, or vice president level.

• Capability to develop business cases and value models that are accepted by finance leaders and verifiable by finance teams.

• Experience in complex multi-entity, multi-currency environments, ideally with exposure to shared services or global business services.

• Must be based in the United States.

• Must possess the right to work in the United States.

• Willingness to travel to client sites occasionally.

• Preferably have finance leadership experience in marketing, advertising, media, or professional services.

• Experience with public company reporting, including SOX 404 control design and testing, and collaboration with internal and external audit is preferred.

• Practical familiarity with UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform and Azure AI, or ServiceNow.

• Applied understanding of agentic AI within a finance context, including guardrails and human-in-the-loop control.

• Experience in consulting or professional services delivery, encompassing scope discipline, commercial awareness, and account growth.

• Familiarity with finance platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials, Coupa, BlackLine, Workamajig, or Advantage.
