This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct assessments of facility conditions, property conditions, energy audits, accessibility assessments, mechanical evaluations, space utilization analyses, and various other building assessment services.
• Carry out on-site assessments in front of clients and create detailed written technical reports that document the findings.
• Execute ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits.
• Analyze Building Energy Management Systems and Building Automation Systems to identify operational enhancements.
• Discover opportunities for energy and water conservation and compute projected savings and return on investment.
• Conduct utility allowance studies, Statements of Energy Performance, ENERGY STAR benchmarking, carbon benchmarking, and other building performance analyses.
• Formulate recommendations that support sustainability, ESG reporting, decarbonization, and Net Zero initiatives.
• Execute building energy modeling utilizing specialized software.
• Review existing building condition surveys, appraisals, energy studies, benchmarking reports, and accessibility surveys.
• Complete inventories of equipment and building components, documenting systems, conditions, deficiencies, and remaining useful life.
• Develop recommendations for repair, replacement, energy improvements, and capital planning, including cost estimates.
• Gather field data for lifecycle cost analysis, capital planning, and energy conservation recommendations.
• Assess construction drawings, maintenance records, utility data, repair histories, warranties, and records of capital improvements.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams on multidisciplinary assessment projects.
• Meet expectations for productivity, report quality, and client service.
• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to company policies, quality standards, standard operating procedures, and safety requirements.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience; or five years of progressively responsible related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Familiarity with Facility Condition Assessments, capital planning, reserve studies, and Asset Management services.
• Understanding of commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building envelope, lighting, and controls.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE energy auditing methodologies and building performance principles.
• Acquainted with Building Automation Systems and Building Energy Management Systems along with building controls.
• Experience with utility benchmarking, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, utility allowance studies, carbon benchmarking, and sustainability reporting.
• Proficient in using eQUEST, DesignBuilder, TREAT, Trane TRACE, Wrightsoft, RemRate, or similar energy modeling platforms.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AssetCalc, Quire, and other business-specific software.
• Capable of operating an electronic tablet for field data collection.
• Willingness to travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to client sites across the U.S., up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and access crawl spaces and roofs during field duties.
• Capacity to occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• Competent in operating a motor vehicle and computer.
• Preferred qualifications include CEM, BEAP, EBCP, BCxP, BPI Multifamily Building Analyst, LEED, or WELL credentials.
