Employee Benefits Agile Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Oversee product execution for 1–2 Agile teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and product vision.

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to discover product opportunities and implications.

• Advocate for the customer's perspective and guarantee customer-focused delivery.

• Collaborate with the Agile Product Manager on the portfolio and value stream vision and roadmap.

• Clearly define product vision and roadmap while guiding sprint objectives.

• Manage and prioritize the product backlog by breaking down epics into features and user stories.

• Assist in feature road mapping and strategic planning efforts.

• Ensure Agile teams comprehend backlog items and their associated business value.

• Develop user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria and validate completed stories.

• Verify delivered solutions against the product vision and integrate feedback from sprint demos.

• Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Architects, Tech Leads, and business stakeholders.

• Keep abreast of customer needs, industry trends, and competitive insights.

• Drive business readiness and facilitate change management initiatives.

• Track and communicate execution progress, risks, and obstacles.

• Analyze delivery metrics to identify trends and foster continuous improvement.

• Maintain clear communication among stakeholders and Agile teams throughout the product lifecycle.

• Report directly to the Agile Product Manager for the program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Insurance in an Agile Product Ownership or a comparable role.

• Familiarity with Employee Benefits Life & Voluntary Products is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks, including SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and XP.

• Proficient in Agile lifecycle management tools such as Rally and JIRA.

• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

• Excellent collaboration and influencing abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in data analysis to uncover insights and formulate hypotheses for testing.

• Knowledge of mentoring junior Agile Product Owners and contributing to a product management community of practice.

• Capacity to manage multiple high-priority demands, set expectations, and meet objectives.

• Familiarity with ADKAR or other change management frameworks is preferred.

• Willingness to travel 10%–25% as necessary.
