Employee Benefits Account Executive

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of employee benefits clients, encompassing various sizes, funding methods, and plan designs.

• Handle client renewals, marketing efforts, and negotiations with carriers.

• Cultivate strong client relationships to enhance retention.

• Create presentations and organize, lead, or co-lead meetings for renewals, open enrollment, and strategic planning.

• Assist in initiatives for prospective clients and implement new client onboarding in collaboration with Producers.

• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling services.

• Communicate effectively with Producers, clients, and key stakeholders.

• Educate clients on compliance responsibilities and facilitate broker compliance tasks.

• Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance requirements, and state-specific mandates.

• Act as an industry expert and technical resource in employee benefits.

• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with ERISA obligations.

• Develop strategies that align with client objectives.

• Evaluate client satisfaction, discuss program improvements, and provide updates on industry trends.

• Resolve issues and address compliance inquiries using both internal and external resources.

• Adhere to agency management data standards and timelines.

• Respond to client inquiries with promptness and professionalism.

• Build and maintain relationships with carriers and vendors.

• Delegate tasks, teach new concepts, and oversee the quality of work performed by Account Managers as assigned.

• Execute additional tasks and projects that support the Employee Benefits team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in employee benefits.

• At least 4 years of broker experience serving clients with 100–1,000 employees.

• Proven expertise in group benefits including medical, dental, vision, and ancillary services.

• Active CA Accident Life & Health License is mandatory.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office and data management software.

• Experience with benefits administration software is highly desirable.

• Strong attention to detail with exceptional accuracy.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

• High level of professionalism and business acumen.

• Exceptional planning, organizational, and prioritization capabilities.

• Willingness to travel for client and prospect meetings as required, up to 40% during Q4.

• Reliable internet access and a distraction-free work environment.
