Electrical Engineer – Overhead Line Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Develop engineering specifications and technical documentation for Overhead Lines up to 420 kV

• Conduct calculations involving sag and tension, loads, earthing, and lightning protection

• Create Bills of Materials and Bills of Quantities

• Design buildings, including obtaining the Building Permit and Detailed Design

• Foster multidisciplinary collaboration and coordination

• Lead technical reviews and establish agreements with clients and suppliers

• Provide consulting services and expert advice to clients and customers

• Assist in enhancing Overhead Lines services to advanced technical standards

• Contribute to strategic development within the Power Systems Department

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD or M.Sc. in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification

• In-depth knowledge of Overhead Lines

• Familiarity with PLS-CADD and QGIS

• Proven experience in stakeholder management and network expansion

• Ability to take ownership of scope, make assumptions, and make decisions with clients
