
Electrical Engineer β Medium/High Voltage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +7 more states.
β’ Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy initiatives, including solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, and microgrids.
β’ Execute traditional underground and overhead transmission and distribution design.
β’ Create specifications, calculations, drawings, and construction packages for electrical systems and equipment ranging from 15kV to 200kV.
β’ Develop three-line diagrams, substation layouts, grounding designs, protection studies, and sag/tension analyses.
β’ Perform quality assurance and quality control evaluations.
β’ Offer technical support to field personnel for collection systems, substations, and transmission equipment.
β’ Conduct studies on short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, power factor, relay coordination, capacity, reliability, and ampacity.
β’ Diagnose electrical equipment issues at renewable energy facilities.
β’ Collaborate with civil and structural engineers while coordinating remotely with colleagues across various offices.
β’ Undertake due diligence, feasibility, conceptual design, and IBR interconnection studies; prepare utility master plan reports.
β’ Engage in project management, client meetings, system design coordination, equipment selection, specification development, shop drawing review, and construction administration.
β’ Mentor engineering and design staff.
β’ Travel occasionally for client meetings, field reviews, and project assignments.
β’ Execute additional tasks as assigned by market principals and project managers.
β’ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
β’ Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or the capability to obtain licensure within six months.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting with an emphasis on medium- and high-voltage power system design.
β’ Proven experience in preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittal reviews, and providing construction administration for power projects.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
β’ Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and/or PLS-CADD.
β’ Experience using power analysis software such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM Power Tools.
β’ Knowledge of voltage drop, fault current, and arc flash analysis tools.
β’ Understanding of CDGES software.
β’ Ability to fulfill pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and MVR review as necessary.
β’ Preferred but not mandatory: graduate degree, professional registrations, technical research, or publication experience.
β’ General Contractor License is an advantage.
