Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, modify, and sustain Ladder Logic for programmable logic controllers.

• Integrate and provide support for Allen-Bradley PLC platforms utilizing Rockwell Automation software tools.

• Conduct system integration within Studio 5000 / CompactLogix environments, version 21 or later.

• Diagnose electrical and control system challenges at both the system and subsystem levels.

• Create and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical.

• Assist in Printed Circuit Board design, evaluation, and troubleshooting.

• Assemble, test, and verify electrical and control system assemblies.

• Provide support for LabVIEW-based control and data acquisition systems.

• Offer limited assistance with FPGA-based integration as a secondary responsibility.

• Aid in the long-term lifecycle sustainment and modernization of existing control architectures.

• Facilitate technical knowledge transfer and documentation for workforce continuity.

• Communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations to engineering and program leadership.

• Act as an understudy to a retiring government engineer to ensure continuity of system knowledge.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance or higher is mandatory.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required.

• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs is essential.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and troubleshooting Ladder Logic-based control systems.

• Proficiency in using Rockwell Automation software tools, including Studio 5000 / CompactLogix.

• Experience in developing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical is necessary.

• Proven experience in troubleshooting electrical and control system challenges.

• Background in assembling and testing electrical or control system hardware is required.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills are essential.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance is required.

• CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred; must be acquired within 90 days of employment.
