This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Design electrical systems for telecommunications and fiber network facilities, encompassing fiber amplification huts and utility connections.
• Collaborate with site civil designers on equipment layouts, service entrances, conduit routing, grounding systems, and utility interconnections.
• Create designs for three-phase power distribution.
• Liaise with utility providers to coordinate electrical service requirements.
• Generate construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure adherence to relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Act as a senior technical resource and advisor for the team.
• Offer specialized technical insights for studies and designs.
• Establish study and design procedures to promote high-quality, cost-effective work by others.
• Engage in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and assessments of technical efforts.
• Complete the electrical discipline portion of PS&E packages.
• Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
• Provide contributions to engineering budgets and schedules.
• Travel occasionally to sites or the office, approximately 5%.
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering with six (6) years of professional electrical engineering design experience, or a demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD for building design.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
• Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records review is a condition of employment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
• Experience leading electrical design for multidisciplinary building projects.
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
• Familiarity with applicable NFPA and IEEE standards.
• Knowledge of the fiber and/or telecom industry.
• Experience using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower for power system studies.
• Familiarity with AGi32 or similar lighting analysis software.
• Experience with Procore or other construction administration platforms.
• Proven experience mentoring junior engineers and conducting formal QA/QC reviews.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and adapt to varying degrees of complexity and definition.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the office or work sites as needed.
