EHS Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) assistance for MD&A customer initiatives.

• Conduct safety walk-downs or assessments during outages or at shops when not assigned to other tasks.

• Support company-wide training and various safety projects.

• Facilitate the execution of customer requirements, MD&A Outage Safety Expectations, and safety plans specific to projects.

• Coordinate and maintain communication with customer EHS representatives and points of contact at customer sites.

• Monitor projects to identify and mitigate hazards to workers or property.

• Aid in the onboarding process for project personnel, including subcontractors, and manage drug-testing protocols.

• Implement and document pre-task briefs and task-specific safety briefings.

• Perform and document weekly safety assessments.

• Investigate incident reports and provide treatment and documentation for first aid cases.

• Oversee and grant authorization for confined-space entries.

• Conduct safety training sessions, including qualifications for overhead crane and forklift operations.

• Participate in customer safety and pre-project meetings.

• Deliver instructor-led safety courses during training sessions.

• Assist with EHS evaluations, inspections, incident investigations, and the implementation of corrective actions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety.

• CHST certification or the capability to obtain the CHST within the first 90 days of employment.

• Proficient knowledge of complex rigging, scaffolding, confined space entry, mechanical systems, and industrial tools.

• Preferred familiarity with or knowledge of Human and Organization Performance improvement.

• A continuous improvement mindset.

• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

• Willingness to be away from home for up to 8 months.
