This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aimed at identifying opportunities and addressing customer issues and needs.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing customers in Colorado's educational sector.
• Meet or exceed sales goals for the territory while adhering to expense guidelines.
• Formulate strategic plans for supplemental, core, and professional development sales to secure business.
• Manage opportunities, contacts, successes, and setbacks within the territory using CRM systems.
• Generate quotes and assist in proposal development, including reviewing and assessing RFPs.
• Demonstrate and showcase print and digital products in various settings.
• Leverage competitive insights to effectively position and present products.
• Utilize resources including consultants, promotions, samples, authors, and management support.
• Provide forecasts for sales, sampling, and inventory management.
• Analyze and convey technology trends and requirements to management, editorial, and marketing teams.
• Identify customer challenges and needs through effective questioning and active listening.
• Employ negotiation skills and closing techniques to secure business.
• Coordinate product training sessions with customers and professional development staff.
• Plan and execute invitationals and presentations.
• Attend selected local, national, and regional exhibitions.
• Follow up on leads generated from online advertisements, exhibits, and conferences.
• Review and offer feedback on new marketing materials.
• Participate in weekly sales team conference calls.
• Carry out general administrative tasks and other assigned projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of sales experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Quick learner capable of multitasking efficiently.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and orientation, able to address external requests promptly and courteously.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure with flexibility, including willingness to work long hours.
• Preferred background or demonstrated knowledge in elementary literacy education, curriculum, or instruction.
• Must be a Colorado resident.
