This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +1 more country.
• Oversee high-impact drug discovery initiatives from target validation to candidate selection.
• Propel compounds into clinical development within Oncology, Inflammation, Neuroscience, Metabolism, and Infectious Diseases.
• Establish and guide cross-functional project teams that include Eurofins Discovery scientists and client collaborators.
• Create, plan, and implement comprehensive discovery strategies from start to finish.
• Advise clients on their requirements while assisting in the preparation and presentation of integrated drug discovery and IND-enabling proposals.
• Develop screening cascades and workflows in partnership with clients, stakeholders, experts, and pricing teams.
• Advance project initiatives across relevant sites to guarantee timely data delivery, achievement of milestones, and strong client relationships.
• Analyze integrated discovery data to support prompt decision-making, identify risks, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Serve as the primary scientific liaison during regular client communications.
• Formulate resource allocation and budget plans.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Eurofins Discovery and Eurofins Biopharma Services' capabilities and capacity.
• Report project status and issues to management and stakeholders through meetings and key documentation.
• Engage with clients, industry colleagues, and suppliers, including conducting customer and client visits.
• Organize and lead post-project evaluations while sharing insights and lessons learned.
• Provide scientific and strategic direction during IND-enabling phases, including study packages, multidisciplinary data interpretation, risk assessment, proposal development, cross-functional coordination, and evidence-based progression decisions.
• Proficient in online project and data-management tools (e.g., SharePoint).
• Strong background in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, or DMPK.
• Over 10 years of industry experience spanning various therapeutic areas and project phases across numerous target classes and gene families.
• Proven history of leading teams and successfully delivering multiple clinical candidates.
• In-depth understanding of medicinal chemistry, biology, ADME/DMPK, bioanalysis, in vivo pharmacology, toxicology, and CMC within a cohesive drug discovery program.
• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent in biological sciences or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in drug discovery project leadership within the industry.
• Expertise in therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, metabolism, or immuno-oncology.
• Exceptional project planning, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, excellent communication (both verbal and written), and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team; self-motivated, adaptable, and possessing a positive demeanor.
• Reside in CST or EST time zones.
• Capable of learning new techniques, managing multiple tasks concurrently, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to company policies.
• Advanced computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, PowerPoint, project management software, Microsoft Project, and AI tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
