This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +1 more country.
• Oversee high-impact drug discovery initiatives from target validation to candidate selection.
• Convert innovative scientific research into compounds ready for clinical use.
• Propel programs in Oncology, Inflammation, Neuroscience, Metabolism, and Infectious Diseases.
• Assemble and direct cross-functional project teams composed of Eurofins Discovery scientists and client collaborators.
• Strategically design, plan, and implement comprehensive discovery strategies.
• Advise clients on their needs and assist in preparing and delivering integrated drug discovery and IND-enabling proposals.
• Develop screening cascades and workflows in collaboration with clients, stakeholders, experts, and pricing teams.
• Manage project and activity progress across relevant locations to ensure timely data delivery, achievement of milestones, and productive client relationships.
• Analyze integrated discovery data, facilitate swift decision-making, identify risks, and help meet timelines, budgets, and milestones.
• Serve as the primary scientific liaison in regular communications with clients.
• Formulate resourcing and budget strategies.
• Keep abreast of Eurofins Discovery and Eurofins Biopharma Services' capabilities and capacities.
• Relay project status and issues to management and stakeholders through meetings and key documentation.
• Engage with clients, industry colleagues, and suppliers, including conducting customer and client visits.
• Prepare and lead post-project evaluations and disseminate lessons learned.
• Offer scientific and strategic direction during the IND-enabling phase, encompassing study package definition, multidisciplinary data interpretation, risk assessment, proposal development, and cross-functional coordination.
• Proficient user of online project and data management tools, such as SharePoint.
• Background in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, or DMPK.
• Over 10 years of industry experience across various therapeutic areas, project stages, target classes, and gene families.
• Proven record of leading teams and delivering multiple clinical candidates.
• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent in biological sciences or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in drug discovery project leadership within the industry.
• Expertise in therapeutic areas, such as oncology, CNS, metabolism, or immuno-oncology.
• Strong skills in project planning, leadership, negotiation, and communication.
• Exceptional organization, verbal and written communication, and attention to detail.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and possesses a positive attitude.
• Resides in CST or EST time zones.
• Ability to acquire new techniques, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain accurate records, and adhere to company policies.
• Advanced computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, PowerPoint, project management software, Microsoft Project, and AI tools.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
