Doctoral School Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Create and execute an innovative curriculum that includes career guidance for early-stage researchers.

• Collaborate with the Head of Scientific Training, school leadership, student representatives, and faculty at the VBC campus.

• Oversee the recruitment process and onboarding of PhD candidates.

• Ensure the quality of PhD training programs.

• Mentor and guide PhD students throughout their doctoral journey.

• Initiate and support events, retreats, and symposiums.

• Assist with promotion and outreach efforts to enhance the program's visibility both locally and internationally.

• Manage budgeting and financial oversight for Doctoral School activities.

• Coordinate and implement projects related to recruitment, training, and outreach.

⛳️ Requirements

• A PhD in life sciences, ideally in molecular biology or a related discipline.

• Experience in program coordination and/or project management within a dynamic, multicultural setting, preferably in the life sciences.

• Proficiency in handling competitive recruitment cycles.

• Exceptional command of the English language.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Capacity to take initiative and accept responsibility.

• An empathetic personality.

• Innovative, adaptable, and team-focused.

• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
