This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +10 more states.
• Engage in ERIE’s comprehensive 24-week District Sales Manager Trainee training and development initiative.
• Acquire and execute field and home office sales duties, encompassing sales management, risk management administration, and branch account operations.
• Independently complete assigned projects.
• Provide operational support in designated Agent offices.
• Educate Agents on product knowledge, underwriting processes, agency operations, and sales strategies.
• Discuss potential business opportunities with Agents and clients, gathering necessary underwriting information for risk evaluation.
• Counsel clients on the coverage required to meet their individual insurance objectives.
• Accompany sales managers, claims, and underwriting professionals on Agent visits, including short-form inspections.
• Foster productive relationships with Independent Agents.
• Maintain positive relationships with Policyholders and collaborate with claims personnel to address issues.
• Respond to inquiries from Policyholders, Agents, and branch office staff regarding claims matters.
• Execute sales promotion initiatives and relay pertinent information to Agents.
• Assess prospective and current risks and compile reports, including scaled drawings and photographs.
• Review inspection findings with Policyholders, providing explanations on hazard reduction, elimination, and loss-mitigation recommendations.
• Complete Life and Property/Casualty licensing training and participate in required examinations.
• Undertake special projects as needed.
• Upon successful completion of training, oversee approximately 25 Independent Agencies within a designated territory.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; alternatively, an Associate’s degree with two years of sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing experience; or a high school diploma/GED combined with four years of sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing experience.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is essential.
• Willingness to relocate to different offices is mandatory.
• Frequent travel is necessary.
• Commitment to pursuing insurance designations is required.
• Successful completion of Life and Property/Casualty licensing exams is needed to finalize the training program.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
• Comfort with frequent travel and geographic mobility is essential.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Completion of insurance designations such as CIC or CPCU is preferred.
