This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +10 more states.
• Engage in ERIE's 24-week training program for District Sales Managers.
• Independently complete assigned projects utilizing the information and skills acquired.
• Learn and execute sales responsibilities in both field and home office settings, covering sales management, risk management, and branch account operations.
• Utilize product knowledge and gained skills to support operations in designated Agent offices.
• Train Agents on products, underwriting processes, Agency operations, and sales techniques.
• Discuss proposed business with Agents and clients, gathering underwriting information to assess risk acceptance or rejection.
• Advise clients on necessary coverages to meet their individual insurance objectives.
• Accompany sales managers, claims, and underwriting teams during Agent visits, including brief inspections.
• Foster productive relationships with Agents to bolster ERIE's quality growth.
• Act as a company representative to maintain positive relationships with Policyholders.
• Collaborate with adjusters and claims personnel to address claims-related concerns.
• Respond to inquiries from Policyholders, Agents, and branch office staff regarding claims issues.
• Implement sales promotion initiatives and relay pertinent information to Agents.
• Inspect potential and existing risks, preparing reports that include scaled drawings and photographs.
• Assist in discussing inspection findings with Policyholders.
• Provide explanations for recommendations regarding hazard reduction, elimination, and other loss prevention measures.
• Attend the annual sales conference and Agent education exchange seminars.
• Participate in Life and Property and Casualty licensing school and complete the necessary exams.
• Complete special projects as needed.
• Upon successful training completion, oversee a territory of approximately 25 Independent Agencies.
• Coach and assist Independent Agents in reaching their business objectives.
• Manage territory performance in terms of sales, underwriting, profitability, and agency management.
• Recruit, train, and develop new Agents.
• Act as a reliable business partner and ERIE product resource.
• Bachelor's degree required; or an Associate's degree plus two years of sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing experience; or a High school diploma or GED with four years of relevant experience required.
• Proficient understanding of word processing and spreadsheet software is necessary.
• Willingness to relocate to other offices is essential.
• Frequent travel is required.
• Commitment to pursuing insurance designations is expected.
• Successful completion of Life and Property/Casualty licensing exams is required to finish the training program.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
• Comfortable with frequent travel and ability to adapt to geographical mobility.
• Capability to lead through influence and establish trusted relationships.

• Quick learning and adaptability to change are essential skills.
• Motivation to assist others in achieving success is required.
• Ability to occasionally lift/move 0–20 lbs.
• Ability to occasionally lift/move 20–50 lbs.

• Frequent driving (50–80%) is expected.
• Occasionally push/pull/move wheeled objects or equipment.
• Frequently engage in manual keying/data entry/computer use (20–50%).
• Rarely climb/access heights.
