This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Recruit, introduce, and promote the ERIE Agency Career to potential Agents and producers.
• Choose, hire, train, and nurture new independent Agents to become self-sustaining company representatives.
• Encourage independent Agents to market ERIE products and services.
• Provide training for Agents on products, underwriting, servicing, and Agency operations.
• Manage complaints and inquiries from Policyholders, Agents, and claimants.
• Address issues with underperforming Agents and ensure accountability for contractual obligations.
• Cultivate and maintain in-depth knowledge of ERIE's commercial, personal, and life products, IT tools, and sales resources.
• Offer local-level insights for rate evaluations.
• Function as a field underwriter for exceptional property and casualty risks within binding authority limits.
• Resolve sales and customer service issues that Agents encounter with branch and home office personnel.
• Communicate updates, new initiatives, and changes to independent Agents.
• Implement best practices in customer service, marketing, sales, and underwriting at the Agency level.
• Sponsor and oversee district and Agency sales contests, promotions, and incentives.
• Market ERIE products and services to customers and prospects as a licensed, non-commission company Agent.
• Provide guidance to Agents and staff regarding industry trends and sales and marketing challenges and opportunities at the Agency level.
• Develop and execute Agency and district business plans and budgets.
• Meet annual P/C and EFL sales targets, profitability objectives, and market-share goals.
• Evaluate performance trends and outcomes of the Agency.
• Conduct assessments of underwriting, re-underwriting, profitability, and compliance results.
• Collaborate with Agents on corrective actions when necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent of four years in sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing experience is required.
• Three years of experience in sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing OR participation in the DSM Training Program is required.
• Must reside in the assigned territory unless a change is sanctioned by the company.
• A solid understanding of and commitment to ERIE's “Above All in Service” philosophy is required.
• Extensive local travel, including overnight stays, is required.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and email software is required.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
• Relevant industry designations, such as CIC, CPCU, or CLU, are preferred.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements listed, including driving, lifting/moving objects, and computer usage.
