District Sales Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage district-level orders, revenue, and margin outcomes across the SCIEX instrument portfolio.

• Convert regional sales strategies into effective execution.

• Take ownership of weekly, monthly, and quarterly order and revenue forecasting obligations.

• Create and implement district growth and action plans utilizing DBS methodologies, visual management, and performance metrics.

• Establish and nurture senior-level customer relationships and key opinion leader engagement throughout the Mid Atlantic region.

• Evaluate competitive and market trends, identify growth opportunities and risks, and execute timely countermeasures.

• Collaborate with stakeholders in Service, Finance, Sales Operations, HR, IT, and Legal.

• Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of direct reports.

• Facilitate capability enhancement, engagement, and succession planning.

• Report to the Sr Director of Sales, Americas.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science-related field or equivalent experience in technical sales, including high-complexity capital equipment within life sciences.

• Proven track record of meeting or surpassing commercial targets in the life science capital equipment sector.

• Over 5 years of experience leading individual contributors in a sales context.

• Proven experience in sales forecasting, territory planning, and pipeline management at a district level.

• Demonstrated use of structured continuous improvement or business system methodologies.

• Experience effectively leading and operating within a remote, geographically dispersed organization.

• Willingness to travel extensively within the West region, including overnight stays, as required by business needs.

• Must hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

• Previous sales leadership experience in mass spectrometry, chromatography, or related analytical instrumentation markets is advantageous.

• Experience managing large, multi-state sales districts with varied customer segments is a plus.
