Dispatcher/Router Combo

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Facilitate communication with WM drivers to assist in resolving issues while they are on their routes.

• Manage incoming service orders and provide direction to drivers.

• Address and resolve various service-related issues.

• Collaborate with WM customer service, sales, and operational personnel, including Route Managers and Mechanics.

• Utilize WM's proprietary software to manage same-day ticket routing effectively.

• Prepare routes for the following day.

• Dispatch drivers to calls based on customer requirements, driver availability, load specifics, and daily considerations.

• Optimize routing in coordination with sites and the service department.

• Assess daily staffing requirements for drivers.

• Allocate routes and service tickets to the appropriate drivers.

• Oversee route actions and ensure completion of all routes.

• Respond to incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales teams.

• Manage requests for pickups and deliveries of container movements within the market area.

• Communicate with customers on-site to address any service delays.

• Identify and resolve potential issues related to delivery and pickup.

• Ensure that missed pickups receive same-day service by managing routing and tracking drivers' movements.

• Engage in face-to-face interactions with assigned sites when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• A minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience.

• Experience in a team-oriented environment.

• Ability to effectively communicate across multiple areas.

• Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced work setting.

• Exceptional organizational abilities.

• Proficient computer skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Flexibility to work during operational hours from 2 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

• Must reside within the South Atlantic Market Area: GA, SC, NC.

• Preferred experience in dispatch, routing, or logistics.

• Some travel, up to 15%, may be required.
