Dispatcher / Router

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate communication with WM drivers to aid in problem resolution during their routes for residential, commercial, and roll-off service lines.

• Manage incoming service orders, guide drivers, and address service-related issues.

• Collaborate with WM customer service, sales, and operational staff, including Route Managers and Mechanics.

• Utilize WM proprietary software to oversee same-day ticket routing and plan routes for the following day.

• Dispatch drivers to calls according to customer requirements, driver locations, loads, and daily considerations to balance cost and customer satisfaction.

• Enhance routes in collaboration with sites and the service department based on customer needs.

• Assess daily driver staffing levels to maximize responsiveness and productivity.

• Allocate routes and service tickets to the appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day.

• Supervise route actions and ensure route completion.

• Address incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales departments.

• Oversee requests for pickups or deliveries involving container movements within the market area.

• Engage with customers while drivers are on-site to resolve pickup and other service-related issues.

• Identify and rectify potential delivery and pickup challenges before they escalate into service issues.

• Guarantee same-day service for missed pickups by managing route assignments and tracking driver movements in the field.

• Be available for flexible shifts within the hours of 5am–7pm CT, with the possibility of overtime and Saturday shifts.

• Some travel up to 15% may be necessary to engage with sites in person.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in a collaborative team setting with effective communication across various departments.

• Capability to multitask in a dynamic work environment.

• Outstanding organizational skills.

• Experience in dispatching, routing, and route optimization is required.

• Strong communication and computer skills are preferred.

• Must possess or be willing to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if necessary for business air travel or access to federal properties.
