This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Formulate strategies and cultivate robust relationships to create an intervention plan that supports the insured’s recovery and ensures a prompt, sustainable return to work.

• Engage via telephone and email with various stakeholders to grasp the context of absences and relay decisions to both the insured and policyholder.

• Evaluate and authorize claims, handle waivers of premium, set benefit amounts, determine payable durations, manage payments, and conduct follow-ups.

• Organize documentation for claimant interviews conducted by the rehabilitation coordinator.

• Assess claims in collaboration with medical consultants and the legal department as necessary.

• Handle disability claims in line with the terms outlined in the group insurance contract.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college diploma in a relevant discipline.

• At least three years of pertinent experience as a disability claims specialist (managing short- and/or long-term disability, return-to-work initiatives, claims adjudication) or in healthcare fields such as rehabilitation, nursing, kinesiology, physiotherapy, psychology, or occupational health.

• Alternative combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be taken into account.

• Advanced command of the English language.

• Candidates must reside in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or the Atlantic region.
