This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Formulate strategies and cultivate robust relationships to develop intervention plans that promote the recovery of insured individuals and their prompt, sustainable reintegration into the workforce.

• Engage in communication via phone and mail with various stakeholders to gain insights into the context of absences and convey decisions to insured individuals and policyholders.

• Evaluate and authorize claims.

• Manage waivers of premium.

• Determine benefit amounts and payment periods.

• Execute payments and perform necessary follow-up actions.

• Prepare documentation for claimant interviews conducted by rehabilitation coordinators.

• Collaborate with medical consultants and the legal department to review claims as needed.

• Handle disability claims in accordance with the terms of group insurance contracts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college diploma in a relevant field.

• A minimum of three years of pertinent experience as a disability claims specialist, encompassing short- and/or long-term disability management, return-to-work strategies, or claims adjudication.

• Relevant experience in healthcare, including rehabilitation, nursing, kinesiology, physiotherapy, psychology, or occupational health.

• Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be taken into account.

• Advanced proficiency in English.

• Must reside in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or the Atlantic region.
