This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and oversight for cost management services across extensive data center construction projects and programs.

• Guide and mentor cost management teams to ensure the successful achievement of project goals and client satisfaction.

• Act as the main commercial point of contact for clients, project stakeholders, consultants, and contractors throughout all phases of the project.

• Execute and supervise quantity surveying, cost control, cost planning, forecasting, and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle.

• Review and authorize cost reports, budgets, estimates, cash flow forecasts, change orders, and final accounts.

• Lead commercial discussions with clients, general contractors, and project teams concerning project performance, risks, and opportunities.

• Provide advice on procurement strategies, contract administration, commercial management, and value engineering initiatives.

• Identify and manage commercial risks while developing strategies to mitigate them to protect project outcomes.

• Promote consistency and best practices across project delivery teams.

• Assist in the strategic and operational management of Cost Management and Project Controls services.

• Oversee the financial performance of commissions, including resource planning, forecasting, and fee management.

• Develop, coach, mentor, and retain high-performing team members.

• Conduct performance evaluations and support career development initiatives.

• Encourage continuous improvement of cost management procedures, processes, tools, and reporting standards.

• Build and sustain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for growth and additional services.

• Engage in business development activities, proposal preparation, interviews, and client presentations.

• Foster knowledge sharing and lessons learned across projects and teams.

• Represent Turner & Townsend at industry and networking events.

• Provide regular updates on project, staffing, and commercial performance to leadership.

• Encourage collaboration, innovation, and excellence in service delivery.

• Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Engineering, or a related construction discipline.

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or commercial management within the construction sector.

• Significant experience supporting large-scale mission-critical, advanced technology, industrial, manufacturing, or data center construction projects.

• Proven experience leading cost management teams and managing client relationships on complex capital projects.

• Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, change management, contract administration, procurement, and commercial controls.

• Experience in developing and reviewing budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and final accounts.

• Exceptional leadership, presentation, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated capability to drive continuous improvement, develop talent, and deliver outstanding client service.

• A graduate degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.

• RICS accreditation or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
