This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Formulate and implement policy positions and advocacy initiatives utilizing a consensus-driven approach.
β’ Manage a prominent policy portfolio addressing public policy concerns related to pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
β’ Monitor, evaluate, and develop strategies regarding state legislation within designated issue areas.
β’ Collaborate with J&J stakeholders to execute changes brought about by enacted state policies.
β’ Lead or assist in engagement and coordination with trade associations.
β’ Organize, develop, prepare, and submit written comments and testimony.
β’ Cultivate, maintain, and optimize relationships with external stakeholder organizations.
β’ Offer subject matter expertise and strategic recommendations to J&J business partners.
β’ Observe and participate in government and stakeholder meetings, formal proceedings, and associated activities.
β’ Create advocacy materials and represent J&J at external venues, conferences, and events.
β’ Foster thought leadership and coordinate policy research in collaboration with internal partners.
β’ Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
β’ At least 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
β’ Extensive knowledge and comprehension of US public policy development, encompassing regulatory and legislative processes.
β’ Proven capability to analyze intricate healthcare regulations and policies, craft and evaluate policy alternatives, and prepare comments on complex healthcare rulemakings and proceedings.
β’ Proficiency in high-level strategic and analytical thinking.
β’ Familiarity with pertinent information and data sources, coupled with the ability to utilize data to guide policy positions and advocacy strategies.
β’ Established internal and external leadership abilities and presence, with the capacity to operate both proactively and independently.
β’ Skill in forming and sustaining collaborative working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, industry professionals, subject matter experts, government affairs personnel, and senior executives.
β’ Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including expertise in persuasive writing and presentations.
β’ Proven commitment to mastering emerging technologies, such as AI, through exploration, iteration, and the application of new tools over time.
β’ MHS/MA/MS or higher degree with a focus on health policy is strongly preferred.
