This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Design and implement policy positions and advocacy strategies utilizing a collaborative approach.
• Manage a prominent policy portfolio addressing public policy matters related to pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
• Evaluate and influence strategies concerning state legislation in designated issue areas alongside State Affairs leaders.
• Collaborate with J&J stakeholders to execute changes in enacted state policies.
• Lead or assist in engagement and coordination with trade associations.
• Plan, create, prepare, and submit written comments and testimonies.
• Cultivate and utilize relationships with external stakeholders to further payment and healthcare delivery objectives.
• Offer subject matter expertise and strategic advice to J&J business collaborators.
• Observe and engage in government and stakeholder meetings, official proceedings, and related activities.
• Create advocacy materials.
• Represent J&J at external functions, conferences, and events.
• Promote thought leadership and influence new policy development with key stakeholder groups.
• Identify and promote essential policy research in conjunction with internal partners.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory.
• An MHS/MA/MS or higher degree with a focus on health policy is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of US public policy development, including regulatory and legislative processes.
• Capability to analyze intricate healthcare regulations and policies, formulate and evaluate policy options, and draft comments on complex healthcare rulemakings and proceedings.
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills.
• Proficient research abilities and familiarity with pertinent information and data sources.
• Expertise in utilizing data to shape policy positions and advocacy strategies.
• Proven internal and external leadership capabilities and presence.
• Ability to work autonomously and proactively.
• Skill in establishing and nurturing collaborative relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, industry professionals, subject matter experts, government affairs teams, and top executives.
• Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills, particularly in persuasive writing.
• A commitment to understanding emerging technologies, including AI.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
