Director, Supply Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing supply management team.

• Provide strategic direction for designated categories, projects, and initiatives.

• Act as a key member of the management team and primary liaison for business units and corporate functions.

• Foster relationships with internal business clients and partners, including Legal and Risk Management.

• Anticipate market trends, supply chain risks, and organizational needs through data, dashboards, and performance metrics.

• Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies.

• Formulate negotiation tactics and negotiate contracts and agreements.

• Ensure that the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery, operates seamlessly.

• Monitor supplier performance, assess and manage risks, resolve disputes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Lead or oversee cross-functional projects and initiatives.

• Establish operating policies and procedures that impact departments and subordinate work units.

• Develop budgets, schedules, and performance standards.

• Perform additional duties and special assignments as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management or procurement.

• At least 5 years of staff management experience is required.

• Domestic travel may be necessary, up to 25%.

• Proficiency in strategic sourcing, category management, contracting, negotiation, supply chain risk management, and supplier relationship management.

• Possess strategic and critical thinking abilities alongside an analytical mindset.

• Strong leadership, team development, and influencing skills.

• Effective communication and presentation capabilities.

• Daily video presence for meetings is expected.

• Excellent organization, adaptability, and ability to lead teams through high-pressure situations.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of financial, commercial, and business principles.

• Maintain integrity, discretion, and comfort with managing ambiguity.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex data and financial analysis.

• Strong skills in PowerPoint and other Microsoft 365 applications.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
