This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the US value and access strategy for Ionis’ cutting-edge products.
• Spearhead the creation of marketing materials focused on payer and access.
• Design and implement training programs for field teams.
• Collaborate with US Key Account Managers, the payer account team, Field Access Managers, and the Sales Force to ensure efficient access and timely patient support.
• Act as the access lead for Key Account Managers for both launch and existing brands.
• Simplify complex payer and market dynamics into actionable guidance for cross-functional teams.
• Establish strategy and oversee the development of access materials, tools, and resources aimed at institutional healthcare decision-makers.
• Ensure that the communication strategy and tools for KAMs are aligned with the formulary decision-maker channel.
• Direct targeted learning initiatives and programs for KAMs, DNAs, FAMs, and Sales teams.
• Evaluate the access landscape, including channel mix, coverage, competitive dynamics, payer unmet needs, willingness to pay, IRA implications, and future payer management strategies.
• Contribute access-related strategic insights during brand planning and oversee market access marketing execution plans.
• Anticipate market and policy changes, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Manage relationships with agency partners, including providing strategic direction, performance oversight, and budget management.
• Offer guidance throughout the Promotional Review Committee process.
• Cultivate cross-functional partnerships with Brand Marketing, Patient Services, HEOR, Field Medical Directors, Sales, Medical Affairs, and the PRC.
• A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in health sciences or business/marketing.
• An MBA or another advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in the bio/pharmaceutical industry.
• A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in specialty, payer, key accounts/institutions, and access marketing is preferred.
• Proven ability to identify organizational capability gaps and training requirements across varied field roles, including KAMs, FAMs, DNAs, and Sales.
• Familiarity with the institutional healthcare landscape, including governance structures of IDNs and Organized Medical Groups (OMG), P&T committee processes, formulary management, hospital financial oversight, and operational nuances of large healthcare systems, including EHR systems and pathways.
• Proficiency in market access, reimbursement, and formulary decision-making marketing within institutional settings.
• Capability to integrate policy, clinical, and commercial aspects effectively.
• Skill in shaping functional and brand-level strategy through innovative, insight-driven access solutions.
• Recognized as an internal expert in market access and reimbursement, with a proven history of influencing senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in launching new products in the US is required, with a preference for specialty drug launches.
• Experience with Pharmacy Benefit products is essential.
