Associate Director, Field Medical Affairs – Thoracic Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Participate in the exchange of scientific data and medical/scientific insights with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers, pharmacists, and decision-makers in population health.

• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of solid tumors, including thoracic malignancies, as well as other tumors relevant to clinical development and strategic medical initiatives.

• Build, nurture, and sustain peer relationships with KOLs.

• Serve as the principal clinical/scientific resource for HCPs regarding the disease state and the company’s products.

• Identify and maintain a roster of pertinent medical and therapeutic area experts and investigators, while developing engagement strategies.

• Provide support for company-sponsored trials and research initiatives led by investigators.

• Recognize and communicate medical insights.

• Identify research gaps and educational needs to guide medical strategy.

• Address information requests and present/discuss scientific and clinical data in a compliant manner.

• Conduct disease management and therapeutic area education for practitioners, payers, and researchers.

• Attend medical conferences and gather/report scientific, clinical, and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders.

• Uphold company policies, procedures, principles, and financial controls with integrity and professionalism.

⛳️ Requirements

• A terminal scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP, or DVM) is mandatory.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience, including at least 4 years in an Oncology Medical Science Liaison role, is essential.

• Required knowledge or experience in the Oncology therapeutic area.

• Experience in thoracic malignancies is preferred.

• Established relationships with KOLs in thoracic malignancies and familiarity with institutions specializing in Solid Tumor Malignancies are preferred.

• Experience with drug launches is highly desirable.

• Understanding of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, pharmaceutical regulations/compliant practices, and OIG guidelines.

• Residency within the designated territory is necessary.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
