Director, Strategic Sourcing – Food & Beverage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct the creation and implementation of sourcing strategies that yield measurable outcomes for our clients within Food & Beverage sectors, such as Food Distribution, Cafeteria Services, Patient Food Services (healthcare), Vending Services, and Catering Services, among others.

• Collaborate closely with client stakeholders to pinpoint category-specific priorities and challenges, subsequently formulating sourcing strategies that effectively meet those objectives.

• Take full responsibility for the complete RFP process, which encompasses data collection, RFP formulation and execution, proposal assessment, supplier negotiations, presentation of results, and support for client award decisions and supplier/client agreements.

• Oversee evaluations of supplier proposals by utilizing TCO modeling.

• Create and execute innovative cost-reduction strategies that go beyond unit price negotiations, incorporating value engineering and demand optimization initiatives.

• Spearhead research and analytics tasks to validate savings forecasts and facilitate more accurate supplier negotiations.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to guarantee a high level of satisfaction for both internal and external clients.

• Conduct thorough supplier research to stay updated on evolving market trends and supplier capabilities.

• Promote effective communication between client business units and suppliers to ensure successful category execution and delivery.

• Build and oversee best-in-class supplier ecosystems categorized by region.

• Review significant contracts and serve as a subject matter expert for intricate negotiations.

• Monitor and evaluate spend, supplier performance, and savings targets at both category and sub-category levels.

• Cultivate and sustain robust relationships at all organizational levels, including partnerships with the C-suite.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.

• At least 10 years of experience in indirect procurement and strategic sourcing with extensive knowledge of Food & Beverage categories.

• Demonstrated experience in developing sourcing strategies for complex Food & Beverage categories and managing large-scale sourcing events.

• Experience in implementing or negotiating GPO food-related contracts.

• Background in managing Food sourcing within the hospital/health system sector.

• Strong expertise in supplier negotiations.

• Previous experience working with clients and/or stakeholders at all organizational levels, particularly in a services industry (e.g., professional consulting, BPO, managed services, outsourcing).

• Proven proficiency in TCO modeling and data-driven decision-making.

• Experience in facilitating change management and achieving cross-functional consensus.

• Familiarity with identifying and executing value engineering and specification optimization recommendations to lower total costs without compromising quality.

• Comprehensive understanding of supplier ecosystems relevant to Food-related categories.

• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel (for analysis) and PowerPoint (for presentations).

• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet client expectations, influencing others or escalating issues as necessary.

• Proven capability to interpret complex data and convert insights into actionable business recommendations.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Established track record of building relationships and gaining credibility in areas extending beyond defined scopes of work.
