Director, Strategic BD – Travel, TMCs

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee the complete lifecycle of Travel & TMC partnerships, from outreach and qualification to negotiation, closing, onboarding, and fostering long-term growth.

β€’ Identify, assess, and cultivate a substantial pipeline of Travel & TMC partnerships with the potential for over $50M in annual volume.

β€’ Manage assigned accounts, strategically prioritize opportunities, and proactively source partnerships.

β€’ Lead intricate negotiations with C-suite and VP-level decision-makers.

β€’ Acquire extensive knowledge of the Travel & TMC landscape, including key market players, buying behaviors, competition, regulations, and partnership models.

β€’ Act as the primary executive relationship steward for major partners post-closing.

β€’ Enhance partner retention, growth, and satisfaction.

β€’ Collaborate with teams in Product, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Finance regarding proposals, onboarding processes, and partner requirements.

β€’ Represent Engine at pertinent conferences, industry events, and executive forums.

β€’ Maintain an accurate Salesforce pipeline, provide clear forecasts, communicate progress to leadership, and utilize AI and sales tools effectively.

β€’ Recruit, nurture, and lead a high-performing business development team as the vertical expands.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ 10+ years of strategic business development, partnerships, or enterprise sales experience specifically focused on Travel & TMC.

β€’ Extensive network and established credibility within the Travel & TMC sector.

β€’ Demonstrated success in sourcing, structuring, and closing complex B2B partnerships at a significant scale.

β€’ Experience managing high-value portfolios and strategic accounts effectively.

β€’ Strong executive presence with the ability to maneuver through complex organizations and engage in C-suite discussions.

β€’ Capability to work independently in ambiguous settings and develop effective playbooks.

β€’ Background in building, managing, or mentoring business development or sales teams.

β€’ Proficiency in modeling and conveying commercial value, deal economics, partnership frameworks, and contract terms.

β€’ Experience in travel, fintech, SaaS, or marketplace platforms is highly advantageous.

β€’ Familiarity with the corporate travel ecosystem is a plus.
