This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead and oversee financial and accounting controls for operational businesses and commercial real estate properties.
• Identify essential performance indicators, conduct cash flow forecasting, and assist operational requirements across various sectors.
• Generate precise deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Execute 13-week cash flow analyses and develop three-statement financial models and forecasts.
• Manage both detailed and executive-level tasks on client accounts.
• Create comprehensive written and financial reports and presentations.
• Provide counsel to clients regarding bankruptcy processes, working capital enhancements, liquidation assessments, loan negotiations/modifications, and claims procedures.
• Present findings to C-suite executives, bankers, attorneys, and business proprietors.
• Collaborate with senior management and client stakeholders to attain project objectives.
• Recognize business development opportunities and cultivate client relationships.
• Oversee deadlines and deliverables across diverse projects and industries.
• Propel process improvements and operational excellence.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and financial allocations.
• Uphold high ethical standards and credibility in all interactions.
• Travel up to 40% to client locations, including areas across the western United States.
• 7-12 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or consulting within a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and/or Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) is advantageous.
• Highly organized with exceptional written and verbal presentation skills.
• Proficient in Excel, including V-Lookup and Pivot Tables, as well as PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to distill extensive data sets.
• Capable of problem-solving and implementing solutions.
• Ability to perform under pressure, manage ambiguity, and adapt swiftly.
• Leadership experience with the capability to manage and mentor a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and delivering outcomes.
• Competent in independently developing and writing high-quality deliverables with minimal oversight.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required by client service needs.
• Experience with Big 4 accounting or consulting firms is a plus.
• Familiarity with various accounting systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of restructuring, turnaround management, bankruptcy, distressed assets, receiverships, and sell-side M&A is a plus.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a remote and/or hybrid environment.
• Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours (8:30 am–5:30 pm) when necessary.
