Director, Statistical Programming Innovation – Technology

📋 Description

• Establish and advance the technical roadmap aimed at innovating statistical programming methodologies, tools, and infrastructure.

• Assess, pilot, and implement AI-enhanced tools to enhance programming efficiency, quality, and compliance with regulatory and GDPR standards.

• Discover opportunities to transform manual and conventional SAS-based processes into automated, reproducible pipelines utilizing R, Python, or other cutting-edge technologies, including AI solutions.

• Design, construct, and sustain reusable tools, macros, packages, and templates that enhance efficiency and consistency across programming outputs.

• Lead migration and integration initiatives that modernize or complement traditional SAS workflows with R/Python-based alternatives.

• Offer technical leadership and practical guidance in the design, development, and deployment of R Shiny applications.

• Establish standards for Shiny app architecture, modularity, performance, and deployment.

• Oversee, manage, mentor, and develop team members under your supervision.

• Cultivate a culture focused on continuous learning, experimentation, and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience in a scientific programming field.

• A combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent will also be considered.

• Over 10 years of experience in statistical programming.

• Proven expertise in R and SAS within CRO or pharmaceutical settings.

• More than 5 years in a technical leadership position.

• At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.

• Strong proficiency in R for data manipulation, automation, and/or statistical analysis.

• Demonstrated hands-on and leadership experience in developing tools, macros, or pipelines that have enhanced efficiency or standardization within a programming function.
