This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee legislative and regulatory proposals within a designated multi-state portfolio that impacts Experian's credit bureau, commercial credit, marketing services, automotive, health, and consumer services sectors.
• Determine priorities for monitoring or engagement.
• Assist in leading legislative and regulatory interactions with state policymakers and regulators.
• Collaborate with state-based consultants, lobbyists, trade associations, coalitions, outside counsel, and other external partners.
• Formulate and implement advocacy strategies for priority state legislative and regulatory issues.
• Align Experian and industry positions.
• Track state agency rulemakings and regulatory actions.
• Organize company and industry responses, including comment letters.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, and business teams to evaluate policy developments and their impact on the business.
• Create policy analysis, legislative and regulatory reports, briefing materials, and priority tracking documents.
• Convey information about enacted laws and finalized regulations to facilitate implementation and compliance planning.
• Assist with Experian's state political and PAC initiatives.
• Over 5 years of experience in state legislative or regulatory policy, at a state financial regulatory agency, or within a policy-focused organization addressing state-level issues.
• Must reside in the Washington D.C. or Sacramento, California regions.
• Willingness to travel for work approximately once a month.
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Experience dealing with privacy, financial services, and technology-related matters.
• Proven ability to work with a variety of personality types and across political divides.
• Skilled in identifying key insights from legislation.
• Familiarity with state legislative and regulatory policy frameworks.
