This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate cyber, technology E&O, privacy, ransomware, network security, regulatory investigations, business interruptions, and related professional liability claims from the initial notification to resolution.

• Facilitate cyber incident responses by collaborating with clients, insurers, breach counsel, forensic investigators, notification vendors, public relations firms, and other specialists.

• Provide guidance to clients on policy stipulations, incident response protocols, regulatory considerations, notification duties, and overall claims strategy.

• Analyze and interpret cyber, technology E&O, privacy, media liability, crime, management liability, and associated insurance policies.

• Draft coverage analyses, claim notifications, tender correspondence, client guidance, and replies to insurer coverage positions.

• Represent clients in coverage negotiations and advocate for favorable claim resolutions with insurance providers.

• Spearhead negotiations with insurers regarding significant coverage disputes, responses to reservations of rights, and coverage declinations.

• Manage communication between clients, carriers, adjusters, legal counsel, consultants, experts, and other involved parties.

• Conduct claims reviews, stewardship meetings, and strategy discussions at the executive level.

• Develop client-specific claims procedures and assist clients in formulating cyber incident reporting and response protocols.

• Monitor claim activities, insurer performance, emerging cyber threats, ransomware patterns, privacy regulations, and developments in the insurance market.

• Collaborate with Producers, Account Executives, Risk Advisors, placement brokers, and other internal stakeholders to ensure a cohesive client experience.

• Aid in securing new business and client retention through responses to Requests for Proposal, presentations, and finalist meetings.

• Contribute to articles, webinars, presentations, training, and other thought leadership initiatives.

• Ensure accurate claim information is maintained in relevant systems while supporting claims data analytics and benchmarking.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• A Juris Doctor is strongly preferred.

• A paralegal certificate, relevant legal background, or equivalent experience may be considered.

• Generally, 10+ years of experience in cyber claims, technology E&O, professional liability, incident response, insurance coverage, litigation, or claims consulting is expected.

• Must be recognized as a subject matter expert in cyber.

• Extensive experience in managing complex cyber incidents and both litigated and non-litigated commercial liability claims is essential.

• Significant experience in interpreting policies and complex insurance programs to address complicated, novel, or ambiguous coverage issues.

• Advanced knowledge of insurance law, litigation processes, and coverage strategy is required.

• Capability to formulate strategic recommendations and negotiate beneficial outcomes.

• Proficiency in coordinating multiple stakeholders and making sound decisions in complex, time-sensitive situations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clarify complex coverage matters and offer practical, business-oriented recommendations.

• Strong client relationship management, presentation abilities, organizational skills, and time management capabilities are necessary.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant web-based business or claims applications.

• Relevant designations in cyber, privacy, insurance, legal, or claims are preferred.

• Experience in mentoring or supporting other claims professionals is preferred.

• An active Property and Casualty insurance license is preferred; candidates without the license must be able to obtain it within three months of accepting the role.

• Ability to integrate legal, technical, operational, financial, and insurance considerations in a fast-paced consulting environment is essential.
