Director, Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of approximately 15 sales personnel and manage a budget reaching several million dollars.

• Formulate and implement a territory sales strategy in collaboration with senior management.

• Guide sales objectives and activities.

• Expand the sales territory by executing sales tactics and leveraging sales goal tools.

• Conduct sales calls with key decision-makers and influencers in the contract hardware sector.

• Engage with distributors, architects, general contractors, construction managers, and end users.

• Present territory performance to senior management during monthly review sessions.

• Conduct regular team meetings.

• Cultivate and sustain a high-performing team.

• Recruit staff, assess and mentor employee performance, facilitate training and development, and encourage team building.

• Advocate for ASSA ABLOY door opening and life-safety product solutions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in sales, business, architectural design/engineering, construction science/management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience with a minimum high school/GED diploma.

• Master’s degree preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience in the door and hardware industry or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the contract distribution channel.

• 1–2 years in a managerial position with responsibilities for staff direction.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with CRM tools and other industry-related software for sales and activity reporting.

• Capability to think strategically and devise and execute effective sales strategies.

• Ability to read and comprehend specifications and facility standards.

• Technical and sales aptitude relevant to the industry.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the territory and across the US.

• Ability to work from a home office or while traveling.

• Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of samples and display materials.

• Strong skills in relationship-building, interpersonal communication, verbal and written communication, listening, negotiation, organization, follow-up, multitasking, and time management.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
