This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Design, execute, and utilize QSP models to gain insights into diseases, biological pathways, and disease trajectories.
• Assess drug candidates and treatment options to forecast outcomes and enhance therapeutic approaches.
• Assist in the clinical onboarding process, including the selection of initial human dosing.
• Enhance and utilize existing Neurology QSP Platforms while creating new QSP models and platforms as necessary.
• Direct preclinical and initial clinical QSP development strategies to aid in dose selection through mechanistic simulations.
• Promote model-informed drug discovery and development (MIDD) methodologies.
• Provide scientific leadership and share research findings at scientific conferences.
• Incorporate MIDD strategies into research and development programs to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
• Encourage cross-functional teamwork and advance QSP capabilities and modeling resources.
• Manage expectations and timelines related to assigned modeling and simulation tasks.
• Employ mathematical, computational, and statistical techniques to analyze and interpret large, intricate datasets.
• Offer scientific and strategic insights across therapeutic domains to facilitate translational decision-making.
• PhD, MD-PhD, and/or PharmD in Bioengineering, Systems Biology, Applied Mathematics, Computational Biology, Pharmacometrics, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related quantitative field.
• Extensive knowledge of applied mathematical modeling, including numerical methods, ordinary differential equations (ODEs), partial differential equations (PDEs), parameter estimation/optimization, and complex biochemical models.
• Profound expertise in quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP), mechanistic modeling, systems biology, and translational science.
• Proven experience in applying QSP methodologies to support drug discovery and/or clinical development initiatives with demonstrable program impact.
• Strong grasp of pharmacology, physiology, immunology, molecular biology, and disease mechanisms.
• Capability to rapidly acquire knowledge in new biological areas and apply quantitative skills to construct mechanistically robust QSP models.
