This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide timely, precise, and actionable research on prospects, which includes in-depth profiles, meeting briefings, capacity ratings, inclination assessments, analysis of philanthropic interests, mapping of relationships and boards, and strategic recommendations.
• Spearhead proactive prospect discovery initiatives for individual donors, foundations, corporations, and institutional prospects.
• Maintain intelligence on prospects and donors in Salesforce, integrating insights from both internal and external sources.
• Analyze and compile data from research databases, public records, internal giving history, relationship networks, and insights from fundraisers.
• Keep abreast of ethical, legal, and privacy considerations pertinent to prospect research.
• Conduct due diligence research and provide insights regarding reputational risks.
• Facilitate portfolio reviews with fundraisers and development leaders.
• Propose and oversee prospect assignments, reassignments, qualification priorities, and disqualification decisions.
• Monitor the donor lifecycle and document the stages of prospects, strategies, opportunities, contact reports, and next steps.
• Assess prospect management processes for consistency, accountability, efficiency, and adoption.
• Create and sustain healthy pools of donors and prospects, balanced portfolios, and robust pipelines.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visual summaries for fundraisers and leadership.
• Participate in meetings with the Fundraising Operations and Development team.
• Exhibit a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
• Engage with TFA’s Elevate performance review system.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in prospect development, management, advancement services, fundraising operations, donor intelligence, prospect research, or a related field.
• Experience collaborating directly with fundraisers or internal stakeholders to enhance portfolio strategy, prioritize prospects, manage relationships, or achieve fundraising goals.
• Proficiency in prospect management practices, including conducting portfolio reviews, managing assignments, overseeing pipelines, moves management, or tracking donor lifecycles.
• Proven experience in conducting prospect research and converting information into actionable insights or recommendations.
• Familiarity with a CRM or similar systems used to manage prospect, donor, or relationship data.
• Strong understanding of data quality and the importance of accurate, accessible information for informed decision-making.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize information from diverse sources and communicate findings clearly to various audiences.
• Exceptional attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive data.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, stakeholders, and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• A curious mindset focused on continuous learning, with a willingness to adopt new systems, tools, and methods.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and resilience in navigating ambiguity and change.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: experience with Salesforce and/or Microsoft Dynamics or another fundraising CRM.
• Preferred: background in data analysis, reporting, dashboard creation, or data visualization.
• Preferred: familiarity with tools like RelSci, iWave, LexisNexis, Wealth-X, Candid, or other similar prospect research instruments.
• Preferred: capability to utilize emerging technologies, including AI.
• Preferred: diverse experience across various areas of fundraising or Development.
• Preferred: experience in launching, improving, or innovating processes, tools, programs, or approaches.
• Preferred: expertise in developing workplans, setting project direction, or structuring ambiguous tasks.
• Preferred: ability to customize communications and recommendations while facilitating change management or systems adoption.
• Preferred: experience in presenting complex information through research profiles, briefings, portfolio summaries, dashboards, or data storytelling.
• Preferred: knowledge of APRA principles and ethical practices in prospect research.
• Preferred: strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or comparable productivity tools.
