This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Identify, evaluate, and implement potential strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and investments.
β’ Oversee the real estate, permitting, and interconnection elements of various utility-scale photovoltaic solar and energy storage projects in targeted US markets.
β’ Discover acquisition and greenfield development opportunities across North America.
β’ Conduct strategic and financial analyses, company evaluations, and financial feasibility assessments.
β’ Keep track of market, industry, economic, consumer, and competitive conditions and trends.
β’ Collaborate with industry groups to uncover new market solutions.
β’ Draft summaries and recommendations for acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic transactions.
β’ Handle real estate issues from initial site control to final title policy, which includes title commitments, curative work, closings, surveys, leases, land purchases, sale-leasebacks, easements, subdivisions, lot line adjustments, and crossing agreements.
β’ Secure local, state, and federal permits, land-use approvals, environmental clearances, historic and cultural resource clearances, aviation filings, species authorizations, and wetland permits.
β’ Lead project involvement in local and state land-use hearings.
β’ Manage interconnection applications from commercial operation, including processes with CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, SPP, and MISO.
β’ Ensure required security postings and payments are made.
β’ Review comments from consultants and internal teams regarding feasibility, system impact, and facilities studies.
β’ Oversee necessary agreements for facility construction, including interconnection, engineering and procurement, and construction agreements.
β’ Manage the information flow between HQC US, project investors, and third-party financing representatives.
β’ Assist Structured Finance and Legal during project sales and debt and equity closings.
β’ Prepare projects for financing or divestment by addressing finance-risk items.
β’ Verify that land-control documents, easements, and rights-of-way meet financing thresholds.
β’ Supervise project-closing real estate matters.
β’ Lead a team of up to two developers.
β’ Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by management.
β’ Bachelorβs Degree or higher in business, urban planning, engineering, finance, or related fields.
β’ Over 8 years of experience in renewable energy project development, representing the owner/developer.
β’ Demonstrated success as a lead developer with a portfolio of projects 50MW or larger.
β’ Strong understanding of energy markets and renewable energy development in North America.
β’ Effective communication skills with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
β’ Excellent preparation, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within North America and internationally.
β’ Professional representation of the company in both internal and external communications.
β’ Valid driver's license and passport.
