This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for designated BESS development projects from the time of commercial handoff through to Financing Ready/NTP.
• Lead and oversee cross-functional teams comprising subject matter experts.
• Manage the balance of schedule, budget, risk, customer commitments, technical requirements, and investment returns.
• Evaluate commercial, technical, permitting, procurement, schedule, and financial risks, and implement strategies for mitigation.
• Make recommendations regarding project continuation, suspension, restructuring, or termination.
• Deliver projects that are financeable and construction-ready, transitioning them to the PMO.
• Own and execute integrated development plans across Engineering, Land Development, Legal, Procurement, Analytics, and other subject matter experts.
• Align priorities, resolve issues, and ensure accountability towards achieving development milestones.
• Collaborate with Capital Markets to synchronize project delivery with financing strategies.
• Manage development budgets and authorize expenditures within the scope of delegated authority.
• Maintain project economics, including IRR and LNPV, while coordinating procurement and ensuring financing readiness.
• Keep each project's unlevered financial model updated with support from Analytics.
• Engage with customers, landowners, utilities, AHJs, and community stakeholders.
• Represent Convergent in external dealings and negotiate commercial matters within the assigned authority.
• Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior-level team members.
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in developing renewable energy or BESS projects and successfully bringing them to completion.
• Strong skills in commercial, financial, project management, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
• Capability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Experience in managing development budgets, schedules, and project economics.
• Ability to perform physical activities as required, including standing, walking, or lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Expected travel of 25%, primarily for team events and company-wide meetings.
• Willingness to travel to remote locations, including by driving or air travel.
• Strong proficiency in Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel, and basic project modeling is highly preferred.
