Director, Project Controls, MEP Estimator, Project & Development Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop the cost management program and its deliverables for extensive capital initiatives.

• Oversee MEP estimating during preconstruction phases, contractor negotiations, and project completions.

• Manage the creation of project budgets, benchmarking, and cost analysis studies.

• Conduct quantity take-offs, analyses, estimates, and studies for electrical and mechanical scopes.

• Incorporate third-party plans and cost elements into a cohesive cost plan.

• Deliver comprehensive cost risk assessments, issue identification, and mitigation strategies to project managers, clients, construction managers, engineering teams, and external parties.

• Facilitate accruals and forecasting processes, including required monthly, biweekly, and weekly reporting.

• Assist in risk management and lead quantitative risk assessments.

• Develop and manage earned value components for intricate manufacturing programs.

• Contribute to the formulation of project control and execution plans.

• Collaborate with senior project managers, clients, and stakeholders on strategic cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.

• Create, manage, and present cost reports and analyses.

• Oversee and report on project controls activities across complex projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

• 15 or more years of relevant experience as a cost management specialist in capital projects, encompassing both design and construction phases.

• Experience in electrical and mechanical estimating.

• Proficiency in interpreting intricate electrical and mechanical drawings and executing quantity take-offs.

• Direct experience in team environments within a complex, matrixed structure.

• Advanced skills in Excel.

• Required experience within the construction sector.

• Preferred experience with data centers and life sciences.

• Strongly preferred additional experience in life sciences.

• Outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• In-depth knowledge of regional markets, competition, and industry trends.

• Negotiation skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.

• Executive-level presentation capabilities.

• Experience utilizing NECA or relevant resources to assess labor productivity.
