Director, Product Manager – AI/Renter's Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the comprehensive AI strategy for the insurance portfolio.

• Convert the multi-year AI strategy into a structured, resource-backed portfolio of AI-focused initiatives.

• Determine the application of AI throughout the portfolio and assess initiatives based on unit growth, revenue expansion, attachment rates, customer retention, and loss-ratio effects.

• Present the insurance AI strategy to executive leadership, the C-suite, clients, the Lumina platform organization, and AI Governance boards.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Managers.

• Set team OKRs, perform performance evaluations, and manage compensation and promotion recommendations for direct reports.

• Create repeatable processes for prioritizing the roadmap, ensuring PRD quality, and achieving go-to-market readiness.

• Manage the relationship with the Lumina AI Workforce team and ensure roadmap prioritization for insurance-related work.

• Negotiate shared OKRs with Lumina product partners and address roadmap conflicts.

• Gather client and resident insights through discussions and behavioral, support, and survey data.

• Oversee enrollment, revenue growth, customer churn and retention, premium/policy economics, customer experience, and the P&L justification for AI investments.

• Collaborate with sales leadership and product marketing to refresh competitive narratives and battlecards as AI capabilities are deployed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in product management.

• More than 1 year of direct leadership and development experience with product managers or a product team.

• Proven experience in establishing and executing an AI-driven product strategy, preferably in fintech, insurtech, proptech, SaaS, or other regulated or platform-dependent sectors.

• A solid track record of managing P&L or taking business-case accountability for a product portfolio.

• Experience in presenting to and influencing senior executives and the C-suite.

• Familiarity with operating within or alongside a regulated business environment.

• Experience collaborating with legal/compliance teams on governance, fairness, and audit needs for AI systems.

• Strong background in negotiating roadmap priorities and shared commitments with partner platform teams beyond direct control.

• Exceptional executive communication skills.

• In-depth knowledge of insurance, renter’s insurance, or related regulatory frameworks (preferred).

• Experience with embedded or agentic AI platforms and managing product efforts through a platform team not directly controlled (preferred).

• Previous experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing product management talent (preferred).
