Director, Product Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Lead the overarching vision for products and the multi-year roadmap for billing and commercial platforms encompassing Compute, Delivery, and Security.

• Design the integration of legacy enterprise billing systems with cloud-based billing solutions.

• Facilitate product-led growth by enhancing customer experiences, implementing promotional credits, providing real-time cost visibility, and enabling self-service account management.

• Develop enterprise commerce functionalities for negotiated pricing, complex commitments, custom discounts, credits, and consolidated billing.

• Collaborate with engineering delivery teams to shift technical groups towards contemporary agile frameworks while ensuring SOX compliance.

• Create reusable capabilities for rating, metering, entitlements, and invoicing processes.

• Foster alignment across various functions including Product, Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Legal.

• Steer the strategic direction for Akamai's global billing ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in product management, billing, fintech, or cloud revenue operations.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting complex integrations of billing systems.

• Proficient in merging legacy enterprise systems with contemporary consumption-based cloud solutions.

• Expertise in usage-based monetization models, pricing strategies, metering, rating, and enterprise contract constructs.

• Proven track record of driving organizational transformation and influencing technical teams to embrace agile development practices.

• Extensive knowledge of financial compliance standards, including the implementation of stringent SOX controls.

• Outstanding cross-functional leadership abilities spanning Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Legal.

• Experience in structuring billing and monetization platforms tailored for emerging AI technologies, agentic workflows, and acquired platforms.
