This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the portfolio planning process, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies, operating plans, capital needs, and portfolio priorities.
• Create and sustain portfolio-level dashboards, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms that reflect priorities, performance metrics, risks, and interdependencies.
• Collaborate with Finance and operational leaders to address strategic priorities, operational plans, and resource distribution.
• Conduct comparative analyses, establish benchmarks, and derive insights for the portfolio.
• Transform portfolio data into actionable insights, recommendations, and decision-making points for Mozilla.org leadership.
• Maintain and enhance operational frameworks, decision rights, authority matrices, and playbooks.
• Manage portfolio governance processes and prepare materials for discussions with leadership and the Board.
• Streamline processes, enhance decision-making, and minimize unnecessary coordination.
• Lead or coordinate key initiatives that involve multiple Mozilla organizations.
• Convert portfolio priorities into actionable workstreams, designate owners, set milestones, identify dependencies, and establish delivery timelines.
• Identify risks and execution gaps, collaborating with portfolio leaders to address them.
• Develop lightweight accountability mechanisms.
• Act as a strategic and operational collaborator with the COO and Mozilla.org leadership.
• Design and facilitate portfolio-level operating forums and working sessions.
• Cultivate trusted relationships across Mozilla’s portfolio organizations and exert influence without direct authority.
• Over 10 years of experience in a multi-entity holding company or within investment management, private equity, venture capital, or development finance sectors.
• Previous experience in a portfolio-level role, complemented by a background in strategy, business operations, portfolio operations, strategic program management, or similar fields.
• Strong affinity for Mozilla’s mission, with a keen interest in merging mission impact with operational and business rigor.
• Familiarity with Board governance and capital allocation processes is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in managing both qualitative and quantitative metric tracking, dashboards, and systems thinking.
• Experience in leading substantial cross-functional initiatives involving senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials for executive-level audiences.
• Strong judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive organizational and leadership matters.
• Capacity to function effectively in environments characterized by distributed decision-making and complex stakeholder dynamics.
