Director, Platform Product Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the strategic roadmap for the components of GridUnity's Intelligence Platform and coordinate the timing of their delivery.

• Balance the prioritization of the platform against the velocity of features and present those trade-offs to leadership.

• Establish and report on platform success metrics, which include API adoption, integration uptime/reliability, time-to-build, and user satisfaction.

• Collaborate with infrastructure engineering and educate product owners regarding platform components and infrastructure.

• Manage platform capability intake and assist product owners in assessing customer satisfaction and requirements.

• Draft epics, requirements, and acceptance criteria; conduct backlog refinement and release planning.

• Oversee the core platform object model and extension framework to meet customer and regulatory requirements across the U.S.

• Manage the developer API portal for both internal product teams and external partners.

• Direct the integration framework plan for third-party systems.

• Define integration requirements, SLAs, and support models in collaboration with engineering, security, and customer-facing teams.

• Advocate for performance, scalability, multi-tenant security, auditability, and compliance with regulations/data.

• Sequence platform-hardening initiatives to safeguard customer data.

• Set the strategic direction of the platform with a high level of autonomy and lead through influence.

• Represent platform capabilities and constraints during company planning, RFPs, customer discussions, and executive roadmap reviews.

• Mentor and manage a team as the function expands.

• Report directly to GridUnity’s Strategic Product Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience within B2B enterprise software organizations.

• More than 7 years of experience in Product Management, including significant experience in a platform/infrastructure/technical Product Management role.

• Proven track record of successfully developing and launching SaaS-based products under your leadership.

• Required experience and knowledge in the energy/utility industry.

• Experience in a utility, ISO/RTO, or as a developer involved in interconnection, grid planning, or utility-scale project development processes is advantageous.

• Comprehensive understanding of and experience with Agile software development methodologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to transition between technical and business content areas.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritize and address competing priorities effectively.

• Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects, teams, and deliverables.

• Adaptability to changing internal and external priorities.

• U.S. person status: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee.
