This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and develop a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, and data professionals.
• Collaborate with business units to pinpoint data platform needs and convert them into platform functionalities.
• Take ownership of platform SLAs, uptime, cost management, and quality benchmarks.
• Promote the adoption of platform best practices in data engineering, governance, and DevOps.
• Manage relationships with vendors, licensing agreements, and partnerships with cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Ensure the platform adheres to data privacy, security, and regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
• Advocate for a culture of data democratization and self-service analytics.
• Offer technical leadership and engineering execution for platform-related initiatives.
• Propel operational excellence, enhance platform adoption, and continuously modernize the enterprise data ecosystem.
• Align platform functionalities with the enterprise data strategy.
• Over 12 years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or platform leadership roles.
• More than 5 years in a director or senior leadership capacity overseeing large technical teams.
• Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise-scale data platforms, such as Databricks, Snowflake, Delta Lake, and Apache Iceberg.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, and the modern data stack.
• Experience with data governance frameworks, data mesh concepts, and data product thinking.
• Excellent executive communication skills with the capacity to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• An MBA or an advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Background in budget management and P&L responsibility.
• Familiarity with AI/ML platform enablement and MLOps.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure/GCP Data Architect or Databricks Platform Architect.
