This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, aiming to secure an initial $2–$3M and enhance contributions as the portfolio and program expand.
• Create customized proposals, impact reports, and strategies for donor recognition.
• Collaborate with the Manager of Leadership Giving and the VP of Philanthropy to maintain a smooth donor pipeline.
• Design and execute a structured leadership giving program.
• Develop donor journeys tailored to giving capacity, interests, and engagement history.
• Enhance donor experiences through personalized stewardship, recognition, and compelling impact storytelling.
• Monitor the performance of the program and donor progression by utilizing data insights to enhance retention and growth.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire the Major Gifts team.
• Translate Food Banks Canada’s Strategic Plan and organizational priorities into actionable fundraising strategies.
• Align business planning, revenue forecasting, and strategic decision-making within the Major Gifts portfolio.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and revenue forecasting; track performance against targets and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel within Canada.
• Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification.
• At least 6 years of progressive fundraising experience with a proven success record in annual giving.
• Strong skills in donor relations and customer service.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated skills in planning, teamwork, and project management.
• Proficient writing skills with the ability to simplify complex issues into clear, understandable messages.
• Proven management and supervisory experience in a fundraising context, including recruitment, management, and staff coaching.
• Experience in developing and executing complex appeal segmentation.
• Skilled in manipulating and analyzing large datasets, deriving insights from various information sources.
• Experience in crafting and implementing strategies and plans that result in increased revenue.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
• High level of personal initiative and motivation.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
• Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Canada.
• Fully remote, home-based work option available throughout Canada.
